It seems an all so typical Mets trade: an up-and-comer for a veteran with a glittering past, but lately on the skids. Julio, of course, is not Kazmir. Indeed, he was one of those vets-on-the-skids when the Mets acquired him. Lately, though, he'd turned things around, and was becoming a reliable reliever.
Much is made of Hernandez's late season success. Let's hope it continues, and that the Mets prove to be in a position to benefit by it.
