The Chieftains, "Mna Na hEireann" ("The Women of Ireland")
It's St. Patrick's Day, but it's also Women's History Month, so here are the Chieftains playing one of my favorites from the Bells of Hell jukebox so many years ago. Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig oraibh!
You're the first person I've known to call Altoona "the big city," though I suppose people in my mother's home town, Tyrone, did. Best to you and yours.
There was a period when our newspaper, The Huntingdon Daily News, was printed in Tyrone! Also, a family friend, Cary Simpson, who played my music on WTLR radio, lived there until he passed a couple of years ago. A real gentleman. Be well, Claude.
Thanks for the video. Hey, you were born in the big city compared to my home towns of Lewistown and Huntingdon, PA. Best to you and the family.
